UCLA Samueli Commencement

As a land grant institution, UCLA acknowledges the Gabrielino/Tongva peoples as the traditional land caretakers of Tovaangar (Los Angeles basin, Southern Channel Islands).

Virtual Commencement

In lieu of an in-person ceremony at Pauley Pavilion, our virtual commencement was aired at 12:30 p.m. PDT on Saturday, June 13. You are also able to watch the ceremony on the UCLA Samueli YouTube channel. The ceremony features various traditional elements including the national anthem, the student speaker and individualized slides of the graduates who registered for the ceremony.

We are excited to announce our 2020 Commencement Speaker was Jason Droege, who was Uber’s vice president of Uber Everything and helped launch the popular Uber Eats. Jason was one of our students in computer science before becoming a successful entrepreneur.

Q: Do I need to use a laptop with a camera for the virtual ceremony?

A: No, you will not need a camera. You just need a computer/laptop/phone/tablet that can access the internet.

Q: Is there software or any downloads my family will need to log on?

A: No, you just need internet access to watch the ceremony.

Q: I’m out of the country. Will my family be able to view the ceremony after it goes live?

A: Absolutely. Once the link to the ceremony is enabled at 12:30 p.m. PDT, you can watch it anytime you want.

Q: Will we be able to get a copy of the ceremony?

A: You will be able to access the ceremony at any time by using the link provided on our website and you will also be able to access it on the school’s YouTube channel.
