Opportunity Overview
If you are interested in learning more about cryptocurrency, blockchain social impact, startups,
community-development, event planning, fundraising, etc. this is an excellent opportunity to
participate early on in a highly publicized organization. After 6 months, you will have a
comprehensive understanding of blockchain and resources to launch your own venture, become a
member of the LAB’s management team, and/or be a leader/advocate in the local blockchain
community. There will also be significant collaboration, participation, and exposure with the
LAB’s management team, other interns, and leading authorities from academia, business,
government, nonprofit, investor, and startup communities. LAB interns will also get access to
many high profile blockchain events at free or heavily discounted rates.

Strategic Development Intern
In this role, you will work on the LAB’s Shark Tank event, a blockchain civic innovation
challenge to be launched in September with the goal of introducing blockchain innovations to
government systems and processes. You will help design and structure the strategic planning and
implementation of the event for a successful launch.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
● Work with the planning team to support the launch and execution of the event
● Assist with managing inquiries leading to the event and submission deadline
● Research other Shark Tank event formats and report findings to the team
● Assist with proposal development, creation of pitch materials and other written
documents for prospective partners and sponsors

● Assist with creation of marketing materials and build-out of website
● Manage multiple requests and drive deliverables on an accelerated timeline
● Represent the LAB at select events in your university
● Assist with managing invitation lists and logistics of events and workshops hosted by the
LAB
● Collaborate with team members across the LAB to assist with major development
opportunities and other community initiatives
● Provide ongoing project management and/or strategic planning support as required
The Strategic Development Dev Intern should have the following:
● Strong interest in and/or understanding of Blockchain technology, its various use
cases/applications and community development
● Capable of producing written documents and marketing materials with a fast turnaround
● Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to go “figure it out”
● Self starter, resourceful multitasker with a proactive doer attitude
● High energy and experience managing multiple projects and requests simultaneously
● Adept at PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Google equivalents as well as popular social
media platforms
● Strong organizational and project management skills with excellent attention to detail
● Strong verbal/written communication skills
Bonus points:
● Ideally some experience in a relevant field or related role such as business development,
project management, event planning, fundraising or operations
● Some familiarity with Photoshop, Sketch and Illustrator
● Basic/intermediate front-end and web development skills
