SMART offers scholarships to undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students who have demonstrated ability and special aptitude for STEM fields. Students are also provided opportunities to continue their research in civil services roles following graduation. SMART scholars receive full tuition and related educational expenses reimbursement, a cash award paid at rate of $25,000-$38,000 depending on prior educational experience, book allowance, summer internship(s), and post-graduation employment. To be eligible to apply, applicant must be a US citizen, at least 18 years of age, be pursuing a degree in a STEM discipline, be enrolled and taking classes in a US accredited college or university, have and maintain at least a 3.0 GPA, be able to complete at least one summer internship, and be requesting at least 1.5 years of degree funding prior to graduation.
