I
am a Junior (during the 2009-10 academic year) following the Enviro
option and there is a conflict in F09 between Ch Engr 101A and A&O Sci
104. What do I enroll in?
Chemistry 113A is listed as a second year first quarter course in the 06-07 curricula pages but Math 33B is a requisite to the course and it is listed after Chem 113A. What should I do?
Ch Engr 103 and C125 are both listed under the Biomolecular option of the 06-07 curriculum (page 38)
and the 07-08 curriculum (page 37) but the curriculum page only lists Ch Engr C125. Do I have to take Ch Engr 103 for the Biomolecular option?
I am a continuing student who switched into the 06-07 curriculum, and I
took MECH&AE 105A in Spring 07 rather than Ch Engr 102A in Fall 07.
Is that okay?
Ch Engr 108A has Ch Engr 106 listed as a requisite but my option does not require Ch Engr 106, but rather Ch Engr C115. Is this okay?
In the 06-07 Announcement, Ch Engr 102B and 103 are listed as recommended courses for the Spring quarter of the junior year; however, 102B is listed as a requisite to 103. Which is correct?
Ch Engr C121 is offered in Winter 2009.
May I take it as an elective?

When
should I take Com Sci 31?
Ch Engrs should
take Com Sci 31 as soon as possible and prior to the senior year.
The department plans to make Com Sci 31 a requisite for ChE 109 (taken
in fall of the junior year).
CS 31 is offered
by UCLA Summer Sessions.
CS 31 can be taken
by ChEs in fall:

Why is URSA preventing me from enrolling in Chemistry courses I need for my requirements?
You are
enrolling on your first pass: some Chemistry & Biochemistry courses are
restricted to Chemistry and Biochemistry majors on the first
enrollment pass. These courses will open to non-majors on the
second enrollment pass.
You do not meet
the requisites: URSA checks to see if you
meet the requisites for Chemistry courses. If you have
transfer or AP credit, URSA may not
recognize that you have met the requisites.
You can bypass the
warning: In most cases, URSA will give you a warning that you can bypass
and still enroll. If you cannot bypass the warning and enroll, you will need to contact the Chemistry department.
If you meet the requisite for a Chemistry course you are attempting to add, then you must either go to:
Chemistry department
4009 Young Hall
http://www.chemistry.ucla.edu/pages/ugrad/counseling
or email Denise Mantonya at dmm@chem.ucla.edu with this information:
- Your Full Name
- Your ID number
- The course and the section(s) you
want to add
FYI -- Chem 156 has Chem 110A listed as a requisite. Once you complete MAE 105A (pre-2006 catalog) or Ch Engr 102A then either of these courses will take the place of Chem 110A as requisite.
When will Ch Engr 104B be offered during the 2009-10
academic year?
F09 is the only term that Ch Engr 104B will
be offered during the 2009-2010 academic year.
If you are planning to graduate in F09, W10, SP10
or SU10 and 104B is one of your required courses, then you must take
104B in F09 in order to graduate on time.
I am a Junior
(during the 2009-10 academic year) following the Enviro option and there
is a conflict in F09 between Ch Engr 101A and A&O Sci 104. What do I
enroll in?
Take Ch
Engr 101A in F09 and A&O Sci 104 in W10.
Contact academic counselor
for additional questions about course planning.
Chemistry 113A is listed as a second year first quarter course in the 06-07 curricula pages, but Math 33B is a requisite to the course and it is listed after Chem 113A. What should I do?
Please take Chem 113A after the required requisites.
Ch Engr 103 and C125 are both listed under the Biomolecular option of the 06-07 curriculum (page 38) but the curriculum page only lists Ch Engr C125. Do I have to take Ch Engr 103 for the Biomolecular option?
No, you do NOT have to take Ch Engr 103.
I am a continuing student who switched into the 06-07 curriculum,
and took MECH&AE 105A in Spring 07 rather than Ch Engr 102A in Fall 07.
Is that okay?
Yes, this was
allowed for that year only; meaning if MECH&AE 105A was taken in Spring 07 only.
Ch Engr 108A has Ch Engr 106 listed as a requisite but my option does not require Ch Engr 106, but rather Ch Engr C115. Is this okay?
This is allowed.
In the 06-07 Announcement, Ch Engr 102B and 103 are listed as recommended courses for the Spring quarter of the junior year; however, 102B is listed as a requisite to 103. Which is correct?
Ch Engr 103 may be taken concurrently with Ch Engr 102B.
Ch Engr C121 is offered in Winter 2009. May I
take it as an elective?
Ch Engr C121
offered during the Winter 2009 quarter has been approved as an elective for all
options of ChE except for the Semiconductor option. Students
wishing to substitute Ch Engr
C121 as an elective must file a petition at 6426 BH. This petition will be approved. |
